I’m Philippa Hammond, a Brighton-resident learning, development and performance consultant / trainer / facilitator, delivering a range of services essential for developing your business impact.

My L&D career began as an immigration officer (civil servant) with a particular interest in the detection of passport and visa forgery and fraud. A colleague invited me to help him out one day giving an informal talk to a new induction group. From there I became forgery team leader, giving awareness raising sessions to colleagues, to other organisations at Gatwick, and then travelling abroad to train airline staff in Yemen, Ukraine, Dallas, Turkey, and many European airports.

When the chance came to join the local Training Unit full time – I leapt. A CIPD Certificate in Training Practice, Home Office Train the Trainer and Presentation Skills qualifications became the foundation of my practice, and the last half of my Home Office career was all about colleague induction and development.

I accepted a flexible early severance package in 2010 and began my own business Speaking Well In Public, later joined by the Trainer Development wing of the business. Since then I’ve enjoyed a great range of engagements, short and long term contracts that have expanded my knowledge and experience as a trainer.

As Speaking Well In Public, I specialise in creating and delivering acclaimed training in Confident Public Speaking, Train the Trainer and other practical skills for business.

As a corporate LDP consultant, I’ve led and directed projects with major organisational development impact in demanding, commercial, charity, regulated and law enforcement fields.
